Amb.\u00a0Paul Webster Hare,<\/a>\u00a0Senior Lecturer at the\u00a0<\/span>Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was interviewed for an article examining\u00a0the centre-right National Party’s victory in Uruguay’s\u00a0presidential election run-off.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hare was interviewed for a November 25, 2019 article in\u00a0The Business Times<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>entitled “Conservative Tipped to Win Presidential Runoff in Uruguay.<\/a>”<\/p>\n

From the text of the article:<\/p>\n

“Uruguay continues to be cited as an example of a functioning democracy in the region, whilst rejecting extremist populists outcomes,” said Paul Hare of Boston University.<\/p>\n

“It is an example for other regions, including the United States,” Mr Hare told AFP.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Amb. Paul Hare<\/a>\u00a0teaches classes at Boston University on Diplomatic Practice, Arms Control, Intercultural Communication and on Cuba in Transition. In Spring 2016 he will offer a new class on Public Diplomacy. His novel, \u201cMoncada \u2013 A Cuban Story\u201d, set in modern Cuba, was published in May 2010.
