Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University hosted a\u00a0February 27, 2019 panel discussion on\u00a0 secrecy and covert action in foreign policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The panel discussion, entitled &#8220;Undercover: Secrecy, Covert Action, and American Foreign Policy,&#8221; featured\u00a0<span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bc.edu\/bc-web\/schools\/mcas\/departments\/political-science\/people\/faculty-directory\/lindsey-orourke.html\">Lindsey O&#8217;Rourke<\/a>, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Boston College, and <a href=\"https:\/\/austinmcarson.com\/\">Austin Carson<\/a>, Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago. The discussion was moderated by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/joshua-shifrinson\/\">Joshua Shifrinson<\/a>, Pardee School Assistant Professor of International Relations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Pardee School Policy and Security Initiative, funded by the Pardee School and the Charles Koch Foundation, brings together students, faculty, outside experts, and policymakers to strengthen Boston University\u2019s research, education, training and curriculum development on pressing issues of international and national security.\u00a0Building on the Pardee School\u2019s rich tradition in international security and diplomatic history and its specific mission to advance human progress, PSI aims to become a powerhouse of research, teaching and professional training in security. In addition to hosting\u00a0regular colloquia and workshops with top scholars and practitioners to discuss the changing security landscape and the ways in which scholarship can inform policy, PSI also\u00a0offers faculty and student seed grants for independent research on international security issues.
