Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, hosted a February 13, 2019 talk with\u00a0J. Andres Gannon, a PhD candidate in the\u00a0<span class=\"x-el x-el-span px_-fs-unset px_-ff-_Noto_Sans___Arial__sans-serif px_-text-decoration-underline x-d-ux\">Political Science<\/span>\u00a0Department at UC San Diego and a Researcher at the Center for Peace and Security Studies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gannon delivered a talk entitled &#8220;<span>Use Their Force: Interstate Security Alignments and the Distribution of Military Capabilities.&#8221; He studies international security and is specifically interested in evolutions in the conduct of international conflict in the 21st century. His current work focuses on military force structure, the consequences of adopting new technologies of warfare, and international crises signaling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gannon&#8217;s research interests include i<span>nternational security, interstate war, technology of conflict, military strategy and operations, political economy of national defense, international cooperation, comparative foreign policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Project\u00a0on the\u00a0Political Economy of Security was founded in 2014 to advance academic and policy-relevant knowledge regarding the intersection of economics and security.
