<\/a><\/p>\nKevin Gallagher<\/a>, Director of the\u00a0<\/span>Global Development Policy (GDP) Center<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Professor of Global Development Policy at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, was interviewed for an article exploring potential candidates for President of the World Bank.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Gallagher was quoted in a January 15, 2019 article in\u00a0Bloomberg<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>entitled “Trump Seeks World Bank Candidate Who Can Retain U.S. Grip, Sources Say.<\/a>”<\/p>\n From the text of the article:<\/p>\n But the rising clout of countries such as China and India is driving support for a non-American candidate. \u201cWe really need to break the gentleman\u2019s agreement between Europe and the United States,\u201d said Kevin Gallagher, professor of global development policy at Boston University. \u201cWhoever the next person is needs to have global legitimacy.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Gallagher<\/a>\u00a0currently serves as co-chair of the T-20 Argentina task force on \u201cAn International Financial Architecture for Stability and Development\u201d to advise the G-20 and its members on financial infrastructure and monetary policy globally.
