Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, is accepting applications\u00a0<\/span>for both pre-and post-doctoral fellowships to work on its China and the Global Economy Research Initiative (CGE). In addition to receiving support for dissertation and post-dissertation work, fellows will participate in the China initiative\u2019s research projects, seminar series, and policy engagement activities.<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience and interest in researching the economic, social, and environmental impacts of development finance institutions in general and Chinese development finance in particular. The GDP Center will accept applications from all\u00a0disciplines, especially engineering, public health, business, and the natural and social sciences. Priority geographical regions of interest, in addition to China, include Africa, Latin America, and South East Asia. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and a language from one of these regions is preferred.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the fellowships will be awarded for the calendar year 2019. Fellows will receive full funding for the period and a modest stipend for data collection and\/or fieldwork. A small number of applicants may be chosen for the 2018\/2019 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants should\u00a0send\u00a0the following<span>\u00a0<\/span><span>to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/profile\/xinyue-ma\/\">Xinyue Ma<\/a>\u00a0(<\/span><a href=\"mailto:xma@bu.edu\">xma@bu.edu<\/a><span>) by\u00a0<\/span><strong>August 6, 2018<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A<span>\u00a0<\/span><span>two-page proposal<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>that demonstrates their interest and experience studying development finance, Chinese development finance in particular.\n<ul>\n<li>In this document, the applicant\u00a0will also propose a research question for a scholarly paper that will be conducted during the fellow\u2019s stay and published as a working paper on the GDP Center\u2019s web page<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A current curriculum vitae.<\/li>\n<li>A cover letter.<\/li>\n<li>Contact information for two references.<\/li>\n<li><em>International candidates only<\/em>: International candidates will need express approval from their sponsoring institution stating that the potential fellow is allowed to earn income from another institution.
