Pardee School for Global Studies at Boston University, delivered\u00a0the keynote address at the M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res (Doctor\u2019s Without Borders)\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.msf.org.uk\/day-one-2018-research\">MSF Scientific Days London<\/a>\u00a0held at\u00a0the Royal Society of Medicine on May 24, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><span>The MSF Scientific Days is aimed at promoting\u00a0the effective sharing of relevant scientific research will contribute to the further improvement of MSF\u2019s care. Research and innovation from the frontline of humanitarian action is presented and debated, and is streamed live and free online to a global audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Najam\u2019s keynote, entitled\u00a0<\/span>\u201cClimate Change, Environmental Health, and Humanitarian Aid,\u201d emphasized that\u00a0we now live in the age of adaptation and an organization like Doctors Without Borders has to be on the front line of climate change. According to Najam, if MSF isn&#8217;t on the front line climate change will itself appear on their front line.<\/p>\n<p><span>Najam\u2019s keynote address built on his earlier argument that <\/span><span>we are already living in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iiasa.ac.at\/web\/home\/about\/alumni\/News\/70620-najam.html\">\u2018<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.iiasa.ac.at\/2017\/07\/26\/interview-living-in-the-age-of-adaptation\/\">Age of Adaptation\u2019<\/a> and, for too many people particularly in poorer countries, climate change impacts are no longer a possibility for the future but a reality of today.
