From financial aid to cutting-edge research, student life to social outreach, donations help the School\u2014and our greater community\u2014thrive.<\/span><span>\u00a0For 24 hours on BU Giving Day, every gift had an even bigger impact. Thanks to Andrew McCarthy (CGS&#8217;04, Pardee &#8217;06), bonus funds were up for grabs!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/263282048\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"webkitallowfullscreen\" mozallowfullscreen=\"mozallowfullscreen\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span>For the\u00a0third year in a row, Pardee School Dean\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/adil-najam\/\">Adil Najam<\/a><span>\u00a0promised that gifts made to the Pardee School as part of BU Giving Day\u00a0will go toward enhanced student activities and programming.\u00a0Funds raised during BU Giving Day in 2017 were used for increased support for student travel, research, publications and events for Pardee School students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;I give to the BU Pardee School because I believe now, more than ever,\u00a0we need a truly 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0century school of global affairs at BU that is dedicated to advancing human progress and guiding the next generation of global leaders,&#8221; Najam said. &#8220;Our faculty are\u00a0committed to the education of problem-solvers, change-agents, and the leaders of tomorrow. We are a school that will work relentlessly to become a world leader in international affairs and that proudly proclaims that it is global.\u00a0Now, more than ever, this is an idea worth believing in. I hope you will give to the BU Pardee School for the same reason.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Pardee School\u00a0also celebrated Giving Day by hosting the<span>\u00a0Cupcake City food truck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/pardeepride\/calendar\/?eid=212758\">in front of 121 Bay State Road.<\/a> Anyone\u00a0making\u00a0an in-person donation\u00a0received a delicious cupcake as a thank you for supporting the Pardee School community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I love the Pardee School. We do important work as both teachers and researchers\u2014trying to improve the world one student and one paper at a time,&#8221;\u00a0<span>said\u00a0<\/span><span>Associate Dean for Academic Affairs\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/william-w-grimes\/\">William Grimes<\/a><span>.<\/span>\u00a0&#8220;Both the students and faculty focus on tangible problems and puzzles rather than getting mired in theoretical or methodological debates. I give to the Pardee School because I see that it makes an impact in the student experience. In the end, the most important thing we do is send dedicated, well-trained young people into the world.
