Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was recently interviewed for a widely-syndicated article on\u00a0Cuban President Raul Castro&#8217;s successor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hare was interviewed for a March 14, 2018\u00a0<em><\/em><em>AFP\u00a0<\/em>article entitled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/castro-steps-down-challenges-await-cubas-leader-055007234.html\">As Castro Steps Down, Challenges Await Cuba&#8217;s New Leader.<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From the text of the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;If Diaz-Canel wants to convince young people, he will have to communicate that individual initiative and income inequality are now compatible with the aims of the revolution,&#8221; said the former British ambassador to Cuba, Paul Webster Hare, who is now a professor at Boston University.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/paul-webster-hare\/\">Amb. Hare<\/a><span>\u00a0teaches classes at Boston University on Diplomatic Practice, Arms Control, Intercultural Communication and on Cuba in Transition. His novel, \u201cMoncada \u2013 A Cuban Story\u201d, set in modern Cuba, was published in May 2010.
