Woodward Jr. at the Fall Reception.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span>The<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/asian\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>Center for the Study of Asia,<\/a><span>\u00a0an affiliated regional center of the\u00a0<\/span><span>Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University,<\/span><span>\u00a0hosted their annual Fall Reception on September 25, 2017 at the\u00a0BU Photonics Center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The event, which was\u00a0organized in collaboration with the student group\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/asian\/academics\/undergraduate\/asiabu\/\">Asian Studies Initiative at Boston University (ASIABU),<\/a>\u00a0was\u00a0<\/span><span>filled with food, fun, and\u00a0a dance performance by the BU Bhangra Dance Group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/catherine-v-yeh\/\">Catherine Yeh,<\/a><span>\u00a0Director of the Center for the Study of Asia, welcomed students and faculty back to campus, and also introduced the major theme that the Center will be focusing on during this academic year, &#8220;Asia\u2019s Cultural Heritage.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The mission of the Boston University Center for the Study of Asia (BUCSA) is to promote comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and cross-national understanding of Asia at Boston University. Operationally, it provides a focal point and institutional support for the study of Asia across Boston University through coordination of teaching missions, support of research, community-building among faculty and students, and outreach beyond the university.
