Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University,\u00a0was recently quoted in a\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\">New York Times<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>article examining\u00a0the large number of\u00a0\u00a0MacArthur Foundation genius grants awarded to\u00a0scientists, scholars, artists and writers born outside of the United States.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Najam&#8217;s Op-Ed, entitled<span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/americas-nobel-success-is-the-story-of-immigrants-67219\">America\u2019s Nobel Success is the Story of Immigrants,<\/a><span>\u201d was originally published in\u00a0<\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/\">The Conversation<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>It was quoted in a September 23, 2017 article in the\u00a0<em>New York Times\u00a0<\/em>entitled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/09\/23\/opinion\/sunday\/macarthur-grants-immigrants.html?_r=0\">Want Geniuses? Welcome Immigrants.<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From the text of the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>That\u2019s the moral of the MacArthur Foundation\u2019s math, which it shared first with The Times. That\u2019s also the moral of the Nobel Prizes. According to\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/theconversation.com\/americas-nobel-success-is-the-story-of-immigrants-67219\">an analysis<\/a><span>late last year by Adil Najam, a Boston University professor: \u201cSince its inception in 1901, the Nobel Prizes and the Prize in Economic Sciences have been awarded\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobelprize.org\/nobel_prizes\/lists\/all\/\">579 times to 911 people and organizations<\/a><span>. The U.S. alone has had more than 350 Nobel winners.
