Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was recently interviewed on what the recent election of South Korean President\u00a0Moon Jae-in means for the future of relations between South Korea and North Korea.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Keylor was quoted in a May 15, 2017 article in\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonherald.com\">The Boston Herald<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>entitled &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonherald.com\/news\/international\/2017\/05\/north_korea_missile_can_reach_us\">North Korea: Missile Can Reach U.S.<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From the text of the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>\u201cThe new president of South Korea, unlike any other president of South Korea, has indicated an interest in open dialogue. What is the response going to be from North Korea?\u201d asked Boston University international relations professor William Keylor. \u201cOn the optimistic side, maybe it was a way of sort of blowing off some steam and then accepting an opening from the South. Maybe it will lead to something.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Keylor served four consecutive terms as Chairman of the Department of History at Boston University (1988-2000) and has been Director of the International History Institute since 1999.
