Amb.\u00a0Vesko\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Gar\u010devi\u0107<\/a>, Professor of the Practice of Diplomacy and International Relations at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, attended the recent\u00a0Fourth\u00a0<\/em>Belgrade NATO Week organized by the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies (CEAS) and NATO.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference covered topics including\u00a0the nature of future NATO-EU cooperation, key decisions of the Warsaw NATO Summit and their implications for the Western Balkans, the Trans-Atlantic Partners\u2019 relations with Russia and the outcome of the United States election and its implication on the future of Transatlantic partnership. It\u00a0was the largest conference on NATO held in Serbia to date.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speakers at the conference included Ambassador\u00a0Stefano Stefanini of the\u00a0<\/strong>Podesta Group,\u00a0<\/span>Walter B. Slocombe\u00a0of the U.S. Atlantic Council Board of Directors,\u00a0<\/span>Mark D. Simakovsky\u00a0of the U.S. Atlantic Council,\u00a0Acting Director of the\u00a0NATO Information Office in Moscow\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Robert Pszczel,\u00a0Ambassador\u00a0<\/span>Kyle Scott from the\u00a0<\/strong>U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, Ambassador\u00a0<\/span>Michael Davenport of\u00a0<\/strong>the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia and Ambassador\u00a0<\/span>Arne Sannes Bjornstad from the\u00a0Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amb. Gar\u010devi\u0107\u00a0and\u00a0Amb. Bjornstad were the speakers at a panel on the decisions made at the<\/span>\u00a0Warsaw NATO Summit and their implications for the Western Balkans. The discussion was moderated by Amb. Stefanini.<\/p>\n
