Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, met with\u00a0Ifigenia Kanara, the Greek Consul General in Boston, on November 16, 2016 for a wide-ranging discussion on topics including careers in diplomacy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Over coffee, students and Kanara discussed current topics including\u00a0<span>the refugee crisis and Greek-American relations as well as Kanara&#8217;s experience as a diplomat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The PGC&#8217;s visit with Kanara\u00a0is the latest event this year\u00a0in which the Pardee School graduate student community has gathered\u00a0outside of the academic setting to socialize and build a graduate class identity. The PGC also hosted a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/2016\/11\/18\/pgc-hosts-thanksgiving-dinner-for-graduate-students\/\">Thanksgiving dinner for graduate students<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/2016\/11\/09\/pgc-view-election-night-returns-at-pardee-school\/\">hosted an election night viewing party<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/2016\/09\/07\/pardee-school-welcomes-graduate-students-with-barbecue\/\">were welcomed back to campus in the fall\u00a0with a barbecue<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/2016\/09\/26\/one-pardee-retreat-held-for-first-year-graduate-students\/\">first-year MA students attended a September retreat<\/a><span>\u00a0aimed at fostering the Pardee School graduate student community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Pardee Graduate Council organizes a variety of activities to enrich students\u2019 lives, including dinners with faculty members and social events. Each year during the Spring Semester, the Pardee Graduate Council organizes a graduate student conference, centered around a theme chosen by the students.\u00a0 The conference draws graduate students from the many colleges and universities throughout the Boston area and beyond.
