Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, recently received\u00a0an Outstanding \u00a0Undergraduate Reseaerch Mentor Award from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/urop\">Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)<\/a> at Boston University\u00a0for his mentorship during summer 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Menchik and other award winners <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/today\/closeup\/urop-award-winners\/\">were featured in\u00a0<em>BU Today\u00a0<\/em>on October 21, 2016.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>UROP facilitates <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/urop\/about\/getting-involved\/\">undergraduate participation<\/a><span> in faculty-mentored <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/urop\/about\/why-do-research\/\">research projects<\/a><span>. Funding opportunities exist and the program is flexible, allowing research study in any academic area University-wide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The annual UROP symposium is being held on October 21, 2016\u00a0at the George Sherman Union, but the Outstanding Undergraduate Researchers and Outstanding Undergraduate Research Mentors were announced earlier this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Every Boston University undergraduate student is eligible to participate in UROP. Student-faculty partnerships span all academic areas\u2014from biological and engineering sciences, economics and sociology, to history and religion, business and the arts.
