Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, recently had his new book,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/2016\/03\/21\/gallagher-publishes-new-book-the-china-triangle\/\"><em>The China Triangle<\/em><\/a><span>, reviewed in the journal\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/providencemag.com\/2016\/08\/book-review-kevin-gallagher-china-triangle-losing-dragon\/\">Providence<\/a>.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can read the full review, entitled &#8220;Losing to the Dragon,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/providencemag.com\/2016\/08\/book-review-kevin-gallagher-china-triangle-losing-dragon\/\">here<\/a>.\u00a0<em>The China Triangle\u00a0<\/em>was released in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><em>The China Triangle\u00a0<\/em><span>provides\u00a0<\/span><span>one of the first accounts of post-\u201cChina boom\u201d Latin America, and focuses on\u00a0Latin America\u2019s development challenges in a historical context.\u00a0<\/span>In the book, Gallagher examines the parallel between the boom of Latin American economies from 2003 to 2013 and the transformation of China from a poverty-stricken nation to the largest economy in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Gallagher also examines how the Latin American boom began to fade in 2014, while China\u2019s economy slowed and shifted toward a consumer-based economy less dependent on imported natural resources.<\/p>\n<p><span>You can purchase\u00a0a copy of\u00a0<\/span><em>The China Triangle\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/nature\/journal\/v531\/n7593\/full\/531169a.html\">here<\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/kevin-p-gallagher\/\">Kevin Gallagher<\/a> is the co-chair of the Task Force on Regulating Capital Flows and has served as an advisor to the Department of State and the Environmental Protection Agency in the United States, as well as to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
