Amb.\u00a0Paul Webster Hare,<\/a>\u00a0Senior Lecturer at the <\/span>Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University<\/a> and former <\/span>British Ambassador to Cuba, was recently interviewed on\u00a0the developing diplomatic relationship between the United States and Cuba.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hare was quoted in a widely-syndicated July\u00a020, 2016 article\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>Agence France-Presse\u00a0<\/em>entitled “A New Relationship Between Progress and Mistrust.<\/a>“<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul Webster Hare, Professor of International Relations at Boston University, underlined his stance that each side dreads being accused of “ideological surrender”.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two nations “hope to maintain a cordial relationship, neither amicable nor antagonistic,” continued the\u00a0British ex-diplomat to the AFP.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hare was the British ambassador to Cuba from 2001-04.\u00a0He worked for 5 years in the private sector, in law and investment banking, before serving for 30 years in the British Diplomatic Service.
