Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University,\u00a0presented findings from two recently published studies by\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/research\/research-initiatives\/global-decolonization-initiative\/\">Global Economic Governance Initiative<\/a>\u00a0at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.csis.org\">Center for Strategic and International Studies<\/a>.<span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gallagher and Bo Kong,\u00a0<span>Senior Associate (non-resident) at the Energy and National Security Program, discussed\u00a0the role of Chinese state financing in global energy development.\u00a0The first study, authored by Gallagher is entitled &#8220;Fueling Growth and Financing Risk,&#8221; and examines the benefits and risks of China&#8217;s development finance in the global energy sector.\u00a0 The second\u00a0study, entitled &#8220;The Globalization of Chinese Energy Companies,&#8221; was led by Kong and tracks the role that the Chinese state has played in helping domestic energy firms to become global household names in the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can watch the full discussion below:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WY3Ylprelrk\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/kevin-p-gallagher\/\">Kevin Gallagher<\/a> is the co-chair of the Task Force on Regulating Capital Flows and has served as an advisor to the Department of State and the Environmental Protection Agency in the United States, as well as to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
