Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University,<\/a> discussed the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference in Paris, France on Nov. 30&#8217;s edition ofWBUR&#8217;s<em>\u00a0RadioBoston<\/em> with Meghna Chakrabarti. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/2015\/11\/29\/adil-najam-paris-cop21-pakistan-delegate\/\">Speaking from Paris<\/a>, where he had attended the opening of the global climate negotiations, Najam\u00a0said that a global increase in temperature of two degrees could be catastrophic for the developing world.<\/p>\n<p>Najam&#8217;s segment was entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/radioboston.wbur.org\/2015\/11\/30\/temperature-paris-climate\">&#8220;Taking the Temperature of the Paris Climate Conference.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"124\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"\/\/embed.wbur.org\/player\/radioboston\/2015\/11\/30\/temperature-paris-climate\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think many heads of state have a great sense of concern,&#8221; Najam said. &#8220;It was interesting to see very powerful speeches from world leaders on this topic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From the text of the accompanying article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Delegates from nearly 200 countries gathered in Paris on Monday to launch two weeks of \u201cmake or break\u201d talks aimed to address the growing threat of climate change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor all the challenges we face, the growing threat of climate change could define the contours of this century more dramatically than any other,\u201d President Obama said at the Paris talks on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Christiana Figueres, the organizer of the Paris Climate Conference, stressed the urgency of the talks in her speech.\u00a0\u201cNever before has a responsibility so great been in the hands of so few,\u201d Figueres said. \u201cThe world is looking to you.
