Pardee School of Global Studies,<\/a> said that partisan gridlock would limit the effectiveness of the Congressional hearings on Benghazi.<\/p>\n<p>Wippl made the argument in an Oct. 22 article on\u00a0<em>USA Today\u00a0<\/em>entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/world\/2015\/10\/21\/new-benghazi-hearings-unlikely-fully-answer-key-questions\/74232156\/\">&#8220;New Benghazi Hearings Unlikely to Fully Answer Key Questions.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>From the text of the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Beyond\u00a0the partisan squabbling, the hearings will seek answers to key policy questions concerning why the U.S. was in Benghazi in the first place and whether the death of Ambassador <culink class=\"culinks\" culang=\"en\" href=\"http:\/\/curiyo.com\/en\/topic\/Christopher Stevens\" title=\"\">Christopher Stevens<\/culink> and three other Americans at the compound could have been prevented.<\/p>\n<p>Yet even after\u00a0eight\u00a0\u00a0investigations, 32 hearings and 70,000 pages of documents produced for various committees,\u00a0these questions may never be fully answered.<\/p>\n<p>With Republicans and Democrats so polarized and a new presidential election so close, committee members \u201care not even close to being on the same page,\u201d\u00a0said\u00a0Joseph Wippl, a 30-year operations officer and manager at the CIA who now teaches at <culink class=\"culinks\" culang=\"en\" href=\"http:\/\/curiyo.com\/en\/topic\/Boston University\" title=\"\">Boston University<\/culink>.\u00a0\u201cThey\u2019ll circle the wagons and protect their sides (and) the president, but I don\u2019t think they\u2019ll reach any results.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/world\/2015\/10\/21\/new-benghazi-hearings-unlikely-fully-answer-key-questions\/74232156\/\">read the entire article and watch an accompanying video here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>Wippl is a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer.
