Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University,<\/a> has published an article in both English and Spanish on strategic minerals in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s11366-015-9359-x\">&#8220;Rescaling China-Brazil Investment Relations in the Strategic Minerals Sector&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0has been published in the <em>Journal of Chinese Political Science.\u00a0<\/em> A Spanish-language version, <a href=\"http:\/\/nuso.org\/revista\/259\/el-desembarco-chino-en-america-latina\/\">&#8220;Minerales Estrat\u00e9gicos: \u00a0Cambios de Escala de las Relations entire China y Brasil,&#8221;<\/a> will appear\u00a0in the September-October issue of <em>Nueva Sociedad.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As part of my commitment to foster international research collaboration, I seek to make my work available in multiple languages,&#8221; Klinger said. &#8220;In this case, I was pleased to collaborate with Dr. Catherine Levy of the\u00a0Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin\u00a0and Dr. Enrique Dussel Peters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, who coordinated the transmission of research articles focused on key actors in China-Latin America Relations to these separate venues.\u00a0 My articles are published as part of an international collection of original research pieces authored by scholars from the Americas, Europe, Australia and East Asia.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From the abstract for the article in the Journal of Chinese Political Science:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>China\u2019s overseas activities during the first decade of the 21st century were characterized by state-directed investments, while the Brazilian government was often portrayed as lacking a strategic policy toward the emerging Asian power. Times have changed. In recent years China\u2019s activities in Brazil\u2019s mineral sector have become more fragmented, while Brazilian subnational entities have assumed greater prominence in directing transnational investment flows.
