The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University<\/a> celebrated the completion of its inaugural year in a Convocation ceremony that brought together faculty, family and students for a day of firsts.<\/p>\n

“Today is a day for celebration. We celebrate the achievements you have attained as students, and we celebrate the ambitions you bring out into the world,” said Adil Najam,<\/a> Inaugural Dean of the Pardee School.<\/p>\n

The convocation was held Saturday, May 16 at Boston University’s Walter Brown Arena. A beautiful warm day greeted the approximately 1,000 guests and 25 faculty members\u00a0who celebrated the graduation of the first class to be called members of the Pardee School.<\/p>\n

“Not only are we proud that our \u00a0students come from all corners of the world, but we note that they work on the greatest challenges of our times” Najam said. “I give to you truly the future of the planet.”<\/p>\n

The 214 undergraduates and 51\u00a0graduate students will join the more than 9,000 alumni from programs currently under the purview of the Pardee School.<\/p>\n

The Convocation ceremony included remarks from Najam,\u00a0as well as the presentation of the following awards:<\/a><\/p>\n
