Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University,<\/a> was published in a number of international media outlets as an expert on finance in China, specifically the recent creation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, or AIIB.<\/p>\n<p>Gallagher was quoted in the <em>Singapore Straits Times<\/em> on April 3, in an article entitled\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/the-big-story\/asia-report\/opinion\/story\/aiib-gains-inclusive-stance-20150403\">&#8220;AIIB Gains from Inclusive Stance.&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0From the text of the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Professor Kevin Gallagher of\u00a0Boston University said relinquishing\u00a0veto power is better for Beijing<br \/>\nin the long run. \u201cNow they\u00a0can say they formed a global financial\u00a0institution with a more sound<br \/>\nstructure than the Bretton Woods\u00a0institutions that grant the US veto\u00a0power,\u201d he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/the-big-story\/asia-report\/opinion\/story\/aiib-gains-inclusive-stance-20150403\">read the article here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On April 7, Gallagher was quoted in a <em>Bloomberg Business<\/em> article entitled, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-04-07\/u-s-failure-to-stop-china-bank-unmasks-fight-over-world-finance?utm_source=social&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=prbuexperts\">&#8220;U.S. Failure to Stop China Bank Unmasks World Finance Fight.&#8221;<\/a> From the text of the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The formation of the bank also may have been driven by China\u2019s frustration with its representation in the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, said Kevin Gallagher, a professor of global development policy at Boston University.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Congress has refused to pass changes to the IMF\u2019s share structure that would give emerging powers such as China and India more clout. \u201cPart of it is definitely feeling like they\u2019re shut out of some of the other institutions,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-04-07\/u-s-failure-to-stop-china-bank-unmasks-fight-over-world-finance?utm_source=social&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=prbuexperts\">read the article here.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On April 8, Gallagher was quoted again in <em>Bloomberg Business<\/em> in an article entitled, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2015-04-08\/kim-says-china-bank-means-new-start-not-end-for-u-s-led-order\">&#8220;Kim Says China Bank is New Start, Not End, for U. S. &#8211; Led Order.&#8221;<\/a> From the text of that article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>China will likely have its own advice to give the World Bank, said Kevin Gallagher, a professor of global development policy at Boston University. S. Economy and Dollar Tighten Latin American Ties.&#8221;<\/a> From the text of that article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Across Latin America, companies increasingly are looking north for business. The prospect of tighter commercial ties across the Americas has handed the United States a chance to reclaim some of the regional economic and political clout it lost to a surging China over the past decade.
