Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University<\/a> elected its new executive board on Feb. 3.<\/p>\n<p>After the originally planned January elections were cancelled due to snow, the GIRC came together at a welcome back event and pizza party that doubled as an opportunity to elect a new President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, GSO Representative, and Member-at-Large.<\/p>\n<p>Elected as President was Charlott Johansen, a first year grad student in the Global Development Policy program.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hope to use my time as President to bring the graduate student body together,&#8221; Johansen said. &#8220;There are a lot of opportunities for the grad students to become even stronger as a group. This is the first year of the Pardee School, and we want to be part of setting a high standard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Other executive board members include Tracey Cook (Vice President), Mariana Echaniz (Treasurer), Bill Burkhart (Secretary), Josh Bruno (GSO Representative), and Kate Skow (Member-at-Large).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The GSO executive board is most responsible for helping their fellow students pursue active engagement in all the Pardee school offers,&#8221; said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/joseph-wippl\/\">Prof. Joe Wippl,<\/a> Director of Graduate Studies. &#8220;That&#8217;s what I hope these officers achieve.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The next GIRC event is a movie night screening the film &#8220;The Baader Meinhof Complex&#8221; on Feb. 10.
