Pardee School of Global Studies<\/a> at Boston Univeristy attended its first meeting of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apsia.org\">Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA)<\/a> since having become a School. The annual meeting of Deans&#8217; and Directors&#8217; of APSIA Schools was held on January 8-9, 2015 in Washington DC, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/profile\/adil-najam\/\">Dean Adil Najam<\/a> represented the Pardee School.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apsia.org\">Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA)<\/a> is a collective of the leading schools of international affairs in the Americas, Asia, and Europe dedicated to the improvement of professional education in international affairs and the advancement \u00a0of international understanding, prosperity, peace, and security.\u00a0APSIA membership includes 35 full and 34 affiliated members, including the BU Pardee School.<\/p>\n<p>The annual meeting of the Deans&#8217; and Directors&#8217; brought together leaders in higher education from across the Americas, Europe and Asia to discuss key trends and challenges and share best practice in professional education in international affairs. The meeting included plenary discussions on (a) building curricula rooted in global competencies and on (b) building diversity, during which the Pardee School Dean shared the experience in these areas at Boston Univeristy.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting also included two keynote talks. The first by <a href=\"http:\/\/carnegieendowment.org\/experts\/?fa=18\">Jessica Tuchman Matthews<\/a>, President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the second by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/blog\/author\/Ambassador%20Susan%20Rice\">Amb.
