At Pardee, he began translating that experience into a new professional path, applying his graduate training as a research assistant with the Korea Defense Veterans Association and later gaining high-level think tank experience at the Wilson Center with support from the Corgan Internship Fund.<\/p>\n<p>With career advising support, Matthew learned how to communicate the value of his transferable skills, including adaptability, communication, and the ability to understand people. Through his hard work and strategic career development, he successfully pivoted into the intelligence and security sector. Today, he works as a policy analyst at Ancilla Technologies and Services, Inc., contributing to national security priorities and supporting mission-driven work in service to the country.<\/p>\n<h4><img src=\"\/pardeeschool\/files\/2026\/08\/Yuka.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"display: block; width: 232px; height: 232px; border-radius: 50% !important; object-fit: cover !important;\" class=\"alignright\" \/><em><span style=\"color: #37aeb3;\"><b>Diplomatic Career: Supporting Bilateral Relations in a Challenging Overseas Post<\/b><\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n<h5><b>YUKA SETO<br \/>\n<\/b><b>Diplomat at the Embassy of Japan in South Sudan<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yuka is building her diplomatic career at one of the most challenging overseas posts for the Japanese Foreign Ministry: Juba, South Sudan. In this early-career role, she has the opportunity to gain an unusually broad diplomatic experience, wearing many hats in a way that is often not possible at a larger embassy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At Pardee, Yuka focused on the intersection of humanitarian relief and international relations, interests that closely align with the realities of her work in South Sudan. She is already deeply engaged in coordination with the close network of foreign diplomats based in the country, as well as with South Sudanese officials. As she explored options, she actively sought support from professors and advisors, building the confidence and clarity needed to move forward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a human resources intern, Ge contributed to the organization\u2019s global mission through talent support, people operations, and administrative work. In her role, Emma leads grant writing, reporting, and outreach to the corporate, foundation, and government partners who fund the organization&#8217;s $5.5+ million annual budget. Institutional support enables the expansion of services across several program areas, ranging from College and Career Pathways to Food and Nutrition, ultimately deepening West End House&#8217;s impact on the community and the young people it serves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While at Pardee, Emma was Vice President of the Pardee Graduate Council, where she developed skills in collaboration, communication, and organizational leadership. These experiences helped her turn her passion for social impact into a career. Her work combines analytical skills, global perspective, and problem-solving, skills she developed both in and outside the classroom, to help improve systems and outcomes in the health sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond her consulting role, she founded DiasporaSpotlight, a show and community that highlights the innovation, leadership, and impact of diasporas around the world. In this role, he uses open-source intelligence tools and risk assessment skills to help protect people, operations, and supply chains.
