A range of School-wide awards are meant to honor the exceptional achievements of the Pardee School community and are typically handed out at the annual School Convocation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Expand the links below to learn more about the awards and for a list of past winners (<i>since the establishment of the Pardee School<\/i>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Gerald and Deanne Gitner Family Prize for Faculty Excellence<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/2015\/03\/30\/new-gitner-prize-to-recognize-faculty-excellence-at-the-pardee-school\/\"><span class=\"s2\">Gerald and Deanne Family Prize for Faculty Excellence<\/span><\/a>\u00a0was established in 2014\u00a0thanks to\u00a0a generous endowment established by\u00a0BU Alum Gerald L. Gitner and his wife Deanne. The Gitner Prize is awarded annually by the Dean to a faculty member of the Pardee School\u00a0for excellence in teaching and mentoring students and for advancing\u00a0the mission of the school. The Gitner Award is (a) open to all full-time faculty (tenure as well as non-tenure) in the School teaching a full course load in\u00a0the year the award is given; and (b) can only be given once to a faculty member. Nominations can be made by students and faculty and are considered by a committee set up to advise the Dean. The Adil Najam Prize is to be awarded annually at the School Convocation to a Pardee School faculty member for excellence as a global public scholar and for advancing the public understanding of any international policy issue of major importance in world affairs. The faculty winner of the Prize will then award the accompanying Fellowship to a Pardee School Masters\u2019 student (or undergraduate senior) to assist in their research in the following year. The Adil Najam Award (a) may be granted to any full-time faculty member in the Pardee School (all ranks and titles); (b) can only be given once to a faculty member; and (c) will carry a cash award, two-thirds of which will be given to the faculty awardee and one-third to the student Fellow selected by the awardee. Chandler, the administrative co-founder and first Executive Assistant of the Center for International Relations.
