re-conflict, the Syrian state heavily subsidized higher education, making it widely available to both rural and urban students, including large numbers of women. However, since 2011, campuses have been sites of particular repression. Over 3 million Syrians are now refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, including large numbers of students who are unable to pursue higher education. This demographic could be a powerful force in the reconstruction of Syrian society; without intervention, an entire generation is at risk. Lunch available at noon. Limited seating. Please register.
