Roundtable & Reception: The Past, Present, and Future of European Studies at Boston University

Join us for a roundtable discussion on the past, present, and future of European Studies at Boston University. Cathie Jo Martin, who is stepping down as Director of the Center for the Study of Europe, will offer introductory remarks. Then she and Founding Director Vivien Schmidt will share highlights from their tenures, their thoughts on present-day Europe, and their current research agendas. Incoming Director Daniela Caruso will then present an overview of our spring 2020 activities, including current faculty initiatives, and suggest possible themes for fall 2020.

Following Daniela’s remarks, we invite you to a discussion - over refreshments - on the future of the Center for the Study of Europe. We hope to have input from as many CSE faculty and affiliates as possible!
