Professor Mark C. The Advisory Council comprises diverse and distinguished medical, legal, and scientific leaders from around the world, who guide PHR’s work.

Professor Mark C. Storella

PHR brings medical, legal, public health, and human rights expertise in support of human dignity, accountability, and redress. Through documentation, empowerment, and advocacy, PHR has had an outsized impact, including its indispensable role in ridding the world of anti-personnel landmines, a shared endeavor that eventually won the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize.

“It is an honor to join such a distinguished group of international experts all dedicated to supporting human rights,” said Storella. “It is especially critical today that objective science be brought to bear in defense of human dignity around the world.”

Currently, PHR is involved in several humanitarian projects, including documentation of the impact of global aid cuts on the health of vulnerable people, investigations of mass killings and atrocities, advocacy to end torture, and work to end impunity for sexual violence.
