GDP Center Seeking Applications for 2023 Summer in the Field Fellowship

The Global Development Policy Center (GDP Center), an affiliated center of Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, has opened applications for its 2023 Summer in the Field Fellowship program.

The GDP Center Summer in the Field Fellowship Program provides stipends to a select group of qualified Boston University Masters and/or Ph.D. students to participate in unpaid internships or conduct field research for a dissertation project. This program provides stipends of $6,000 to $8,000 for students to take advantage of opportunities or research that would otherwise be financially unfeasible. Previous Summer in the Field Fellows have participated in a variety of activities from conducting research on bureaucracy and state capacity building in southern China to exploring the implications of women in leadership in Meghalaya, India for women empowerment and gender equity.

Students are responsible for identifying and securing internship positions and the focus of the internship must be related to the GDP Center’s mission of advancing policy-oriented research for financial stability, human well-being, and environmental sustainability across the globe. Applications close March 24, 2023. Visit the GDP Center’s website for a full breakdown of the Summer in the Field Fellowship program as well as application requirements and instructions.

If you are a BU student interested in this fellowship, be sure to attend the GDP Center’s information session on February 22, 2023. Attendees will get a full briefing on the fellowship and hear from former Summer in the Field Fellows. RSVP on the GDP Center’s website
