Pardee Center Concludes Fall 2022 Global Health Politics Workshop Series

On December 5, 2022, the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, an affiliate center of Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, concluded its Fall 2022 Global Health Politics Workshop (GHPW) series with a talk by Siri Suh (Associate Professor of Sociology, Brandeis University) on post-abortion care and global reproductive health politics.

Convened by Pardee Center Faculty Research Fellow Joseph Harris, the monthly GHPW series brought together leading social scientists from the disciplines of anthropology, political science, and sociology, along with practitioners in Boston and around the world, to advance understanding of health phenomena in a globally interconnected world. This hybrid workshop series seeks to:

  • Create a forum for the exchange of ideas across disciplines.
  • Showcase cutting-edge research in the social sciences on the politics of global health.
  • Offer a space for graduate student training and professionalization.
  • Deepen institutionalization of global health politics research within disciplinary social sciences.
  • Bridge scholarly and practitioner worlds.

The final GHPW lecture can be viewed below. To watch the full series of events, visit the Pardee Center’s YouTube channel.

The monthly series will return in the spring. Visit the Pardee Center website for updates.
