Heine Comments on the Summit of the Americas and War in Ukraine

In an interview with Voice of America (VOA) Russia, Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, comments on the Summit of the Americas and the war in Ukraine.

The article, titled “Саммит Америк и война в Украине (Summit of the Americas and the war in Ukraine),” explores the United States’ diplomatic shortcomings concerning the Summit as well as how the continued war in Ukraine is increasing political divides in the Americas. Heine has spoken at great length about the Biden administration’s ill-advised decision to exclude certain Latin American countries from the Summit of the Americas, a pity considering the continent has been “the epicenter of the pandemic” suffering great human and economic casualties.
