Stern Receives Templeton Award for Excellence in Student Advising and Mentoring
Jessica Stern, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, has been named a recipient of the 2022 College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Templeton Award for Excellence in Student Advising.
The Templeton Award is given annually to three CAS professors for excellence in advising and is the result of student nominations through the Boston University Office of Student Academic Life. The other 2022 recipients are Deborah Pearlstein, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Ben Siegel, Associate Professor of History. The common theme among all of the nominations for this year’s winners was an obvious commitment to working with students and a sincere desire to help them do their best work.
“I am honored and pleased to receive the Templeton Award for Excellence in Student Advising and Mentoring from the College of Arts and Sciences this year,” said Stern. “The fact that the awardees are selected by students makes the Award even more meaningful. The opportunity to help our students with their academic and career choices is one of the greatest joys of my life. It is a privilege and a gift to play even a small role in students’ development as citizens of the world.”
