Heine Discusses Impact of Chinese-Latin American Trade

In an interview with CGTN, Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, discussed the “Two Sessions” being held in Beijing right now and their significance for Latin America.

For Latin America, economic and investment issues addressed during the Two Sessions are relevant due to the impact that China has on the countries of the region. In his interview, Heine underscore the growth in Sino-Latin American trade in 2021, which reached $451 billion, a 40% increase over 2020.

Ambassador Jorge Heine is a Research Professor at the Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University. He has served as ambassador of Chile to China (2014-2017), to India (2003-2007) and to South Africa (1994-1999), and as a Cabinet Minister in the Chilean Government. Read more on him here.
