Najam Elected Trustee of The Asia Foundation

Adil Najam, Dean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, has been elected as a Trustee of The Asia Foundation (TAF). 

TAF is a nonprofit international development organization committed to improving lives across a dynamic and developing Asia. Informed by six decades of experience and deep local expertise, TAF’s work across the region is focused on good governance, women’s empowerment and gender equality, inclusive economic growth, environment and climate action, as well as regional and international relations.

Najam previously served on TAF’s Board from 2013-2020 and was re-elected for a third term by the Board of the Foundation. He will also be serving as the Chair of the Foundation’s Program Review Committee. A globally recognized authority on international environment and development policy, Najam has worked extensively across much of Asia on public policy related to sustainable development issues most recently as the lead author of the United Nations’ Human Development Report for Pakistan, which focused on youth and development.

Adil Najam is a global public policy expert who also served as the Vice-Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. He is the Inaugural Dean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University and was the former Vice-Chancellor of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). His research focuses on issues of global public policy, especially those related to global climate change, South Asia, Muslim countries, environment and development, and human development.
