Najam Interviewed on Climate Change After COVID-19

Adil Najam, Dean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, appeared on DW News to discuss climate change and how to address it after the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the world struggled to address the pandemic, climate change has taken a back seat. In remarks, Najam discussed how to tackle climate change in a post-pandemic world. He argued that there is no human health without ecological health and that, much like the pandemic, humanity must adapt to a new way of living in order to combat the worst effects of climate change. While this is not an attractive prospect following a year of isolation and quarantine, Najam said that we as a species value our quality of life and must recognize that improving it does not simply mean returning to life as it was before the pandemic.
