Heine Publishes Article in Journal of Latin American Studies

Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, published an article in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences’ Journal of Lantin American Studies on Chile-China relations.

In the article, titled “Chile-China Relations: Half a Century of Continuity and Complementarity,” Heine discusses the stability of Chile and China’s relationship over the past fifty years, the tensions affecting international order that will test their ties, and what can be done to ensure both countries maintain their connection moving forward.

An excerpt:

The fluid dialogue between its leaders, facilitated by membership in entities such as APEC as well as by a rigorous program of mutual official visits, has been key to their bilateral relations. That said, there is little doubt that the current tensions affecting the international order will test not only ties between China and Chile, but also those between China and other Latin American countries.
