Hare in Reuters on Death of Castro’s Son

Amb. Paul Webster Hare, Senior Lecturer at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was recently interviewed for an article on the death of  Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro’s eldest son.

Hare was interviewed for a February 1, 2018 article by Reuters entitled “Fidel Castro’s Eldest Son ‘Fidelito’ Commits Suicide.

A former British ambassador to Cuba, Paul Hare, who lectures at Boston University’s Pardee School of Global Studies, said Castro Diaz-Balart had seemed “thoughtful, rather curious about the world beyond Cuba” at a dinner in Boston two years ago.

“But he seemed a bit weary about having to be a Castro, rather than himself,” Hare said.

Amb. Hare teaches classes at Boston University on Diplomatic Practice, Arms Control, Intercultural Communication and on Cuba in Transition. His novel, “Moncada – A Cuban Story”, set in modern Cuba, was published in May 2010. His book “Making Diplomacy Work; Intelligent Innovation for the Modern World.’ was published in early 2015.
