Taiwan’s Deputy Minister for Education Visits Pardee School

High level government officials from the Republic of Taiwan visited Boston University this week as part of a cultural and education exchange program.

Taiwan’s Political Deputy Minister for Education Lucia Lin also visited the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies on May 27, 2015. The delegation also included Min-Ling Yang, Director-General of the Department of International and Cross-Strait Education for the Ministry of Education.

The delegation was received by Dean Adil Najam and Associate Dean William Grimes who discussed issues related to global education with the guests and briefed them on the School’s world-class curriculum in Asian studies. Later, they also met Eugenio Menegon, Director of the Center for the Study of Asia, who briefed them on the activities of the Center, including those that have been supported by the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Boston, headed by Director Cynthia Huang Yuan-yu. Lucia Lin also met BU President Robert Brown, and Min-Ling Yang met with Associate Provost of Global Programs Willis Wang.
