{"id":991,"date":"2008-09-13T17:47:08","date_gmt":"2008-09-13T21:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/2008\/09\/13\/pardee-house-seminar-beyond-the-energy-crisis\/"},"modified":"2011-07-29T12:05:19","modified_gmt":"2011-07-29T16:05:19","slug":"pardee-house-seminar-beyond-the-energy-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/2008\/09\/13\/pardee-house-seminar-beyond-the-energy-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"Pardee House Seminar: Beyond the Energy Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment989\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment989\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/files\/news-cms\/photos\/poster-energy-sep-08.jpg\" alt=\"Pardee House Seminar\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment989\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">September 22, 2008: Pardee House Seminar<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The next Pardee House Seminar &#8211; the first of the academic year 2008-09 &#8211; will be held on September 22, 2008 at the Pardee House (67 Bay State Road, Boston, MA 02215), on <strong><em>&#8220;Future Challenges: Beyond the Energy Crisis.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The lunch seminar will feature Prof. Cutler Cleveland, Prof. Uday Pal and Moeed Yusuf, who will discuss different aspects of the future of energy.<\/p>\n<p>This seminar series focuses on a variety of inter-disciplinary issues and invite experts from different disciplines to discuss the long-range challenges and trends in that particular issue.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/pardee\/community\/cutler-cleveland\/\">Prof. Cutler Cleveland<\/a><\/strong> is a Professor of Geography and Environment at Boston University, the editor of the Encyclopedia of the Earth, and a Pardee Center Faculty Fellow. <\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/mfg\/people\/faculty\/profiles\/pal.shtml\">Prof. Uday Pal<\/a><\/strong>, is a Professor and Chair ad interim for Manufacturing Engineering at Boston University&#8217;s School of Engineering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moeed Yusuf<\/strong> is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Political Science at Boston Univeristy, a Graduate Research Fellow at the Pardee Center, and author of a forthcoming Pardee Center paper on the <em>Future of Nuclear Energy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Lunch will be available from 11.30am, and the seminar itself will start at noon.
