Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at Boston University hosted a reception in honor of the participants of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/research\/development-that-works\/\">Development That Works<\/a> conference\u00a0on the evening of March 30, 2011.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment8608\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment8608\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/research\/development-that-works\/\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-8608\" title=\"Reception-Development\" src=\"\/pardee\/files\/2011\/03\/Reception-Development.jpg\" alt=\"Pardee Center Boston University\" width=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/files\/2011\/03\/Reception-Development.jpg 625w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/files\/2011\/03\/Reception-Development-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment8608\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Reception at Pardee House, Boston University to launch &#8216;Development that Works&#8217; Conference<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Held at the Pardee House, the reception was attended by faculty and researchers from Boston University,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/2011\/03\/14\/development-works-assistants\/\">Pardee Center Graduate Assistants<\/a>, and conference speakers.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/community\/professors\/adil-najam\/\" target=\"_blank\">Prof. Adil Najam<\/a>, the Director of the Boston University Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future welcomed the guests and introduced them to the work of the Pardee Center. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/about\/global-development-faculty\/jonathon-simon\/\">Prof.\u00a0Jonathon Simon<\/a>, Director of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cghd\/\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Global Health &amp; Development (CGHD)<\/a>, also welcomed the guests and introduced them to the work of the CGHD.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/research\/development-that-works\/\">Development That Works<\/a> conference will bring together leading scholars and practitioners to discuss development ideas that have the potential to lead to sustainable and effective development.
