In his capacity as associate director of programs of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.climatecentre.org\/site\/home\">Red Cross \/ Red Crescent Climate Centre<\/a>, Dr. Suarez has joined forces with colleagues from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wetlands.org\/\">Wetlands International<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.care.org\/\">CARE<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cordaid.nl\/nl\/(728)-Cordaid.html\">Cordaid<\/a> and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rodekruis.nl\/dit-zijn-we\/Paginas\/Dit-zijn-we.aspx\">Netherlands Red Cross<\/a> in this \u20ac35 million program aimed at disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, with activities in Mali as well as Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Guatemala, Nicaragua, India, Indonesia and the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Partners for Resilience&#8221; includes three levels of work: community-level climate risk management, capacity building of civil society, and advocacy and policy.
