Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future and the BU Department of Geography and Environment will continue to convene the\u00a0John Sawyer Seminars<\/a> at Boston University\u00a0on\u00a0Energy Transitions and Society<\/em> for Spring 2010.<\/p>\n

The first seminar in this Spring 2011 series will be held on\u00a0Friday, January 28, 2011<\/strong> and will feature<\/p>\n

The focus of the panel for the fifth Sawyer Seminar of the series (the series will meet once a month) will be\u00a0“Energy Transition Policy.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The seminar will meet on the 4th Floor of the BU School of Management (Hariri Building, 595 Commonwealth Avenue) at Rm 424 from 10.00AM to 12.30PM<\/strong>.\u00a0Please RSVP at\u00a0pardee@bu.edu<\/a> by end of day Tuesday, January \u00a025, 2010.\u00a0Seating is limited to 40 participants only.<\/p>\n

The seminar series, supported by a grant from\u00a0the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation<\/a>, will meet once each month during the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters. The interdisciplinary seminars will bring together leadings scholars to Boston University to discuss various aspects of how energy transitions are themselves socially constituted and how they have, and are likely to, impact society. To facilitate an interdisciplinary discourse, each seminar will feature three speakers, in most cases from different academic disciplines. The Seminar Series is co-sponsored by the Boston University Clean Energy and Environmental Sustainability Initiative (CEESI<\/a>).<\/p>\n
