\"\"Laurence Delina<\/a>, a post-doctoral associate at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future from 2015-2019, recently began a new position as an assistant professor at the Division of Environment and Sustainability<\/a> at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology<\/a>. Delina will be continuing his collaboration with the Pardee Center as a Visiting Research Fellow<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While at the Pardee Center, Delina led a research project called\u00a0The Future of Energy Systems in Developing Countries<\/a>, which\u00a0sought to understand the options and trade-offs\u00a0for achieving a\u00a0secure and sustainable energy future in a select number of developing countries. In his newest book,\u00a0<\/a><\/em>titled\u00a0Emancipatory Climate Actions: Strategies from histories<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(Palgrave Macmillan 2019), Delina\u00a0offers strategies for strengthening climate change activism based on the mechanisms that made previous large-scale social movements successful.\u00a0He is the author of three other books:\u00a0Strategies for Rapid Climate Mitigation:\u00a0Wartime mobilisation as a model for action?<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>(Routledge 2016),\u00a0Accelerating Sustainable Energy Transition(s) in Developing Countries:\u00a0The challenges of climate change and sustainable development<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(Routledge 2017), and\u00a0Climate Actions: Transformative Mechanisms for Social Mobilisation<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(Palgrave Macmillan 2019).<\/p>\n
