\"JanetosHeadshot5\"Anthony Janetos, the Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, will teach a graduate level course this fall titled “Scientific Assessments of Environmental Issues: Process and Evaluation.”<\/a><\/p>\n

Drawing on his wealth of experience serving on several national and international study teams, including the U.S. National Climate Assessment (NCA)<\/a> and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)<\/a>, Prof. Janetos will explore the history, practice, and evaluation of scientific assessments on a range of environmental issues, including stratospheric ozone depletion, climate change, and biodiversity. The assessments will be examined through a science communication lens, and the reasons\u00a0for their success or failure will be discussed.<\/p>\n

The course is cross-listed as GRS GE 710<\/a> and GRS IR 728<\/a>, and will meet Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5:15 pm.<\/p>\n
