Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at Boston University, presented at the <a href=\"http:\/\/csis.org\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Strategic and International Studies<\/a>&#8216; (CSIS) Nuclear Scholars Initiative meeting in Washington D.C. on July 10. Members of the Initiative are officials and scholars associated with all areas of the nuclear complex.<\/p>\n<p>In his presentation, Yusuf discussed the US role in nuclear crises across the world. Specifically, he focused<br \/>\non the South Asian nuclear conundrum, studying the US role in diffusing tensions in future India-Pakistan nuclear crises. The presentation generated a lively debate on whether the US, as the world&#8217;s super power has a moral responsibility to intervene diplomatically or if it ought to let the two countries in question hammer out their own differences. Yusuf will be developing a policy paper to be published as part of a compilation by CSIS.<\/p>\n<p>Yusuf is a doctoral candidate and Senior Teaching Fellow in the Political Science Department at Boston University. He is the author of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/\/pardee-paper-003-nuclear\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pardee Paper No. 3 <\/a>titled &#8220;Does Nuclear Energy Have a Future?&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Moeed Yusuf, Graduate Research Fellow at the Frederick S.
