The story cites a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/16222008\">2005 publication<\/a> Prof. McCann co-authored on the connection between maize cultivation and malaria transmission in Ethiopia. Prof. McCann was also the principal investigator of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/multimedia-library\/2012-archive\/maize-malaria-documentary\/\">five-year study<\/a> funded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rockefellerfoundation.org\">Rockefeller Foundation<\/a> on the same topic.
