{"id":14330,"date":"2012-12-19T09:58:31","date_gmt":"2012-12-19T14:58:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/?p=14330"},"modified":"2012-12-19T09:58:31","modified_gmt":"2012-12-19T14:58:31","slug":"south-south","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/2012\/12\/19\/south-south\/","title":{"rendered":"New Book Published from Pardee Center&#8217;s &#8220;South-South&#8221; Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/pardee\/files\/2012\/12\/South-South-cover.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14329\" title=\"South South Book cover\" alt=\"South South Book cover\" src=\"\/pardee\/files\/2012\/12\/South-South-cover.jpg\" height=\"184\" width=\"123\" \/><\/a>A new book titled <a href=\"http:\/\/zedbooks.co.uk\/hardback\/the-future-of-south-south-economic-relations\"><em>The Future of South-South Economic Relations<\/em><\/a> stemming from a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/2010\/09\/24\/pardee-center-conference-on-south-south-economic-relations\/\"> Pardee Center 2010 conference of the same name<\/a> was recently published by Zed Books.<\/p>\n<p>The book was edited by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/community\/professors\/adil-najam\/\">former Pardee Center Director Prof. Adil Najam<\/a> (now Vice Chancellor of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lums.edu.pk\/\">Lahore University of Management Sciences<\/a> in Pakistan) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/community\/rachel-thrasher\/\">Pardee Center Research Fellow Rachel Denae Thrasher<\/a>.\u00a0 The volume features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/research\/south-south-economic-relations\/\">chapters by several international experts<\/a> on the topic who presented preliminary versions of their book chapters at the conference.<\/p>\n<p>The book draws on the authors\u2019 expertise in discussing the history of economic collaboration among various developing countries and what shape future collaborations may take in terms of not only trade, but also investment and finance, labor and workforce movement, and cooperation in global economic governance.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second edited volume of essays by experts stemming from a Pardee Center conference.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/2010\/09\/22\/china-today-china-tomorrow\/\"><em>China Today, China Tomorrow<\/em> <\/a>(2010, Rowman and Littlefield Publishers) was the outcome of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/2008\/12\/24\/pardee-center-holds-conference-on-where-is-china-headed\/\">2008 Pardee Center conference<\/a> titled \u201cWhere is China Headed?\u201d organized by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/community\/joseph-fewsmith\/\"> Pardee Center Faculty Fellow Joseph Fewsmith<\/a>, who also served as editor of the book.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new book titled The Future of South-South Economic Relations stemming from a Pardee Center 2010 conference of the same name was recently published by Zed Books.
