Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at Boston University<\/a> invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow for a year-long appointment, beginning in either September 2012 or January 2013. Researchers working on issues related to <strong>(a)<\/strong> <strong>measurement and evaluation of progress in human development and well-being, (b) engineering as applied to development or public health issues or (c) connections between human development, ecology and public health in developing countries,<\/strong> are especially encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p>We are interested in candidates with <strong>strong analytical skills, substantive knowledge and experience, and an interest and ability to analyze longer-range trends and policy options in a global perspective<\/strong>. <a href=\"\/pardee\/files\/2012\/01\/67bsr-l13.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-11386\" title=\"Pardee Sign Icon\" src=\"\/pardee\/files\/2012\/01\/67bsr-l13-235x300.jpg\" alt=\"Pardee Sign Icon\" width=\"235\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/files\/2012\/01\/67bsr-l13-235x300.jpg 235w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/files\/2012\/01\/67bsr-l13.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" \/><\/a>The Post-Doc Research Fellow will participate and help develop research programs in these areas at the Pardee Center and join a community of scholars who seek to conduct interdisciplinary, policy-relevant, and future-oriented research that contributes to long-term improvements in the human condition. Our research seeks to identify, anticipate, and enhance the long-term potential for human progress\u2014 with recognition of its complexity and uncertainties.<\/p>\n<p>The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will have the ability to develop his\/her own research projects (including collaborative initiatives) and will conduct original research, produce scholarly publications, and disseminate findings at the Pardee Seminar Series and other venues. The Post-Doctoral Fellow also will be expected to participate in other Pardee Center research activities and to participate in the general intellectual life of Boston University.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for the fellowship are welcome from recent recipients of PhD or equivalent degrees. In special circumstances applications from advanced ABD doctoral candidates may also be considered. The post-doctoral fellowship is a full-time position for up to 12 months. Successful candidates will be expected to work at the Pardee Center for the entirety of their appointment.
