{"id":11027,"date":"2011-12-08T12:06:18","date_gmt":"2011-12-08T17:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/?p=11027"},"modified":"2011-12-09T11:00:35","modified_gmt":"2011-12-09T16:00:35","slug":"nabar-bhaduri-post-doc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/2011\/12\/08\/nabar-bhaduri-post-doc\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Suranjana Nabar-Bhaduri Joins Pardee Center as a Post-Doc Fellow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/pardee\/files\/2011\/08\/Nabar-Bhaduri_thumbnail.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11020 alignleft\" title=\"Nabar-Bhaduri_thumbnail\" src=\"\/pardee\/files\/2011\/08\/Nabar-Bhaduri_thumbnail.png\" alt=\"Nabar-Bhaduri_thumbnail\" width=\"142\" height=\"142\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardee\/community\/suranjana-nabar-bhaduri\/\">Dr. Suranjana Nabar-Bhaduri<\/a>, a scholar of development economics and the Indian economy, recently joined the Pardee Center as a Post-Doctoral Fellow.<\/p>\n<p>She is currently working on a policy brief for Pardee Center on the effects of liberalizing economies to external markets while minimizing state intervention in the developing world.<\/p>\n<p>Her research interests include the development of policies conducive to sustainable and inclusive development; the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and economic development; the development of alternative measures of economic growth and development; factors driving the reduction of the balance of payments constraint in\u00a0developing countries; human rights in developing countries; gender and environmental aspects of development; and the political economy of international relations.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nabar-Bhaduri earned a doctorate in economics from the the University of Utah. Her dissertation, <em>A Structuralist Approach to Analyzing India\u2019s Productivity, Employment and Export Performance, <\/em>emphasizes the need to account for sectoral-level dynamics when evaluating the efficacy of structural policy shifts in a developing country. She completed her M.A. in economics at the University of Mumbai, India.
